Sometime’s, it can be a bummer when summer is over, but don’t let it get you down. Listed below are several reasons why the Fall Season is… Awesome!

The Heat Fades Away

After the heat wave, we can appreciate the cool Fall temperatures. The breeze carrying that crisp, sweet scent of the changing season. The Fall weather is just downright perfect for anything you feel like doing. So take advantage of those perfect temps before Jack Frost strolls into town.

The Bugs and Other Pests Start to Go Bye Bye.

As the temperature continues to drop lower each night, the insects will start to disappear. We also lose those other pests due to hibernation like Bats, Skunks, Deer Mice, Tree Frogs, and Ground Squirrels. And the snakes will stop slithering through the yard. Yes!

Our Favorite TV Shows Return

After all those season cliffhangers we’ve had to wait months for… are finally, coming back on. LIKE: Fear of the walking dead.

  • The Voice.
  • The Amazing Race.
  • 24 / Legacy.
  • 60 Minutes.
  • Arrow
  • The 100

The list goes on and on. But it’s time to schedule that DVR― and record away. Don’t forget to add popcorn, chips and dip and a few sweet snacks to your grocery list. Now you’re ready to jump in front of the TV and continue on your cinematic journey.

Pumpkin Latte’s

This is the time all those specialty spices make an appearance. YUM! Remember: That flavor comes in ice cream too.

The Leaves Change Color

Now’s the best time to get out in nature and see the beauty that surrounds you. Lay in the grass and watch those leaves fall from the trees, dancing and floating through the air before they land, decorating the landscape in brilliant shades or red, orange, brown and yellow. Remember to save some of those leaves to make mulch for your future vegetable garden and flower beds.

Football (Duh!)

Fire up that grill and invite your friends over and enjoy those cool Sunday afternoon football games. Plan a laid back beer night for Monday and Thursday nights. Cheer on your favorite team and mock your rivals every chance you get. Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition, right?

Fall Foods

Now’s the time to shop at the farmer’s’ market and buy some of those delicious fall fruits and vegetables. Gotta Love those:

  • Pumpkins.
  • Apples.
  • Squash.
  • Beet.
  • Cabbage and Brussel Sprouts.
  • Cranberries.
  • Pears.
  • Sweet Potatoes.
  • Turnips.

If you love fresh pumpkin and apple pies; time to start baking. Vanilla ice cream is always great for ala mode.

Time to Park Your Lawn Mower

Time to put that baby back in the garage and enjoy your yard-free time. You might have a few leaves to rack, but other than that, your lawn is ready to take a nap. Nice!

Fall Decorations and Costume Planning

Time to get out those scary or Thanksgiving decorations. It also the perfect time to start making your Halloween costume or planning that perfect party. Get creative and have fun.

Kids Are Back in School

Now you can get back to your routine and have a few kid-free moments to yourself. If you take advantage of a Car-Pooling system, you can stay in your robe until noon.

Awh! This is the Life!

Beverley Miles

I am a 48-year-old woman with nothing more than a high school diploma and two years of college under my belt. During my short college experience, I took a creative writing class and received a D+ from my professor. I never considered myself a writer, nor had I given it much thought until I experienced a personal hardship. I escaped the pain by burying myself into something creative instead of crying all day.

I told myself, ‘Just get to 60,000 words and then you can say you’ve written a book.’ Initially, I began writing as therapy but soon discovered; I loved it. An alternate universe exists? Inside MY head? Why had I not seen this before?

My husband, daughter, and sister advised me that I should create a blog, so that’s what I did. I believe the key to life is trusting your heart and following your dreams, no matter how big or small they are. No one knows what treasures lie deep within yourself unless you’re willing to travel into unknown territory to uncover those hidden gems. For me, that is the case. I have a true passion for writing. I am grateful for this opportunity to share my thoughts with others. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I loved writing them.

I do have a book series that will come out soon. I will post a few chapters before it is published so my readers can have the first look.

XO Beverley Miles.
